Writing Assignment #1
I took this picture in the summer of 2008 on a road trip with a friend to New Mexico. I was the passenger and took this shot while standing up out of the sun roof going 20mph (with the hazard lights on of course). This road trip was the first of quite a few and helped me realize what I valued in life. Being out on the open road, car or motorcycle, restored my sanity and gave me serenity. Whenever I look at this is just picture it makes me think about how there is this beautiful world out there that I want to explore and it gives me hope when I'm down and out.
The mountain ranges in the background give a hint to the vast distances (life experiences) laid out in front of me. The mountain ranges right in front serves as a short-term goals to reach, each peak serving as a symbol of each area of my life. The road laid out in front is my path, detours (seen & unseen) included, it's my job to navigate. There are distractions abound on both sides so focus is key.
